Toyota Land Cruiser 250 by Kuhl Racing Is a Giant SUV on Wheels, Standing Higher from the Ground

The gorgeous Toyota Land Cruiser 250 is the latest proof that an extensive tuning project can be done successfully on such a rare ride, and Kuhl Racing has demonstrated a masterpiece in delivering the finest pieces.

Only days after presenting the Kuhl Outroad Toyota GR86, the Japanese tuner rolled out a much more imposing project: the Blocker Iron Build, a heavily reworked Land Cruiser that trades subtlety for height, steel hardware, and a far more aggressive stance.

First off, this Cruiser 250 stands out from the crowd with some one-off visual elements; we are dealing here with front and rear bumper guards, pipe fenders which measure 2.8 inches in diameter, as well as new side steps.

More aftermarket bits refer to a skid plate underneath for protection, or a new roof, which now comes with a full rack assembly with a 40-inch IPF LED light bar and roof carrier.

There is more going on than just armor. Kuhl also developed a roof wing extension and a rear tailgate wing intended to help airflow. On a boxy SUV, that sounds ambitious—maybe overly ambitious—but those parts are part of the package nonetheless.

However, there is nothing so visible as the SUV`s new ride height. As you can see in the photos, the car received a new height-adjustable suspension setup and JAOS spacers. This makes it stand higher from the ground by around 7 inches. To support the new ride height, the tuner also added massive Kuhl Verz DDR03 22-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 37-inch Yokohama Geoalnder M/T G003 mud-terrain rubber. Now, the total ground clearance stands at 15.7 inches.

That makes it higher than the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4, with 13.8 inches. So yes, this Toyota ends up in unusually tall company. Taller, in fact.

Kuhl plans to display the vehicle across the company’s stores in Japan. Buyers will be able to purchase the conversion as a package for their own vehicle or order the whole thing as a complete build.

About the price, in case you were wondering how much the whole deal costs, the tuner hinted at something around 6,790,000 yen, or the equivalent of roughly $43,305.

However, the tuner has also stated in a press release that the project is not finished yet, as it is going to add some extra goodies, like a sportier FRP body kit. Stay tuned for fresh news in the upcoming period.
