The 2022 BMW M8 Competition Coupe F92 does not arrive from the factory lacking muscle. In European specification, it produces 625 hp (460 kW), while US cars are rated at 617 hp. Torque stands at 750 Nm globally, or 553 ft-lbs for the American market. Those are not modest figures by any measure.
Still, dAHLer looks at those numbers and decides there is headroom left.
Complete Powertrain Information
The upgrade of the Swiss tuner takes the power to 705 hp (518 kW), or 695 hp in US specification. Torque is increased to 850 Nm and translates to 625 ft-lbs in the US models. The boost is 80 hp (59 kW) in the EU version and 78 hp in the United States, with an increase in torque by 100 Nm, or 72 ft-lbs in American vehicles. This is done with the 98 octane fuel, which is equal to 93 octane in the US.
Installation is intended to remain uncomplicated. The module works with vehicles built both before and after 06/2020, and notably, it does not require the removal of the DME. It connects in-line using OEM-style plugs at the boost pressure sensor, camshaft position sensor, and rail pressure sensor. According to dAHLer, installation takes approximately one hour and can be reversed completely to OEM specification if needed.

The system operates with stock-like smoothness and remains compatible across all driving modes. During normal driving conditions, fuel economy is unchanged. It is not VIN locked, can be removed without leaving traces, and may be resold later. Developed in Switzerland and manufactured in Germany, the module has been tested on the German Autobahn. It carries TUV part approval under WLTC regulations, EPA compliance in the USA, and is supported by a worldwide three-year product warranty.
App Control and Safety
Management of the system takes place through the free dAHLer Mobile app, available for both iOS and Android via Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Drivers can select from three distinct performance maps and update firmware worldwide as revisions become available. Additional power can be activated or deactivated directly from a smartphone, even while driving, and a configurable warm-up timer is included.
Factory safety measures remain in place, including overload protection and warm-up protocols. BMW software updates do not overwrite the tuning module, and factory diagnostics and service access remain unaffected. The system is described as undetectable through plug-in diagnostic readers and leaves no trace behind. A valet connector allows the vehicle to revert to stock mapping when installed.
Exhaust System
Beyond the engine module, dAHLer offers a 1.4301 stainless steel axle-back performance exhaust system. Manufactured in Germany at an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, it fits both xDrive and rear-wheel-drive variants, as well as left- and right-hand drive vehicles, including OPF and non-OPF models.

The valve-controlled, high-flow stainless-steel muffler is engineered to remain drone-free at highway speeds while producing a more assertive tone than the factory setup. OEM hangers are reused, slip-joint connections are included, and no reprogramming or check engine lights are triggered. The exhaust system holds German TUV approval, European homologation under current emission standards, and EPA compliance for the US market. An optional remote-control device for the exhaust flaps is available.
The result is not a reinvention of the M8 Competition Coupe F92, but a measurable escalation — more output, more adjustability, and hardware designed to integrate rather than disrupt.
