German-based tuner Brabus is well-known for its daring aftermarket projects carried out on the most important models from Mercedes. Today, I have had the pleasure of seeing an AMG G63 project called Brabus 700 WIDESTAR, an impressive ride that needs no presentation. In this case, the project involved was about a wider body, more power, and a bigger presence.
But that initial reaction doesn’t really hold for long. The details don’t stack up like a checklist. Instead, they drift in one direction, clearly and without much hesitation. This isn’t about redefining the G-Class. It’s about leaning harder into what it already was.
Exterior
Brabus named its project WIDESTAR, and it really earned its place, as the exterior is exactly about a wide body package, with plenty of standout elements. One of the most important aspects refers to extended wheel arches, which increase the car`s width. However, the arches aren’t just about looking great, but also about the possibility of fitting the model with bigger wheels than the standard G63.

The wheels are Monoblock, sized 11×23 inches, and wrapped in 305/35 R23 tires. However, customers can also choose the optional Continental Pirelli, depending on the configuration. And the end result is a bigger stance and stability.
Other Specs
Other than the wheels, the aero package also comprises of revised front and rear bumpers, Brabus grille, side air intakes, and auxiliary light bar at the roof. The aggressive attitude of the car is also supported by all these elements, as well as the wheel arches and wheels.

Interior
The interior also feels like a Brabus with the presence of the badge all around. Also, the cabin now features plenty of trims wrapped in carbon fiber and wood. Alcantara and Mastik leather complete the luxurious feel.

Complete Powertrain Information
Improvements on performance were also undertaken. Brabus increased the initial 585 horsepower of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine of the G63 to 700 horsepower. Torque was also raised to 950 Nm as opposed to 850 Nm.
This could all be achieved with the help of the tuner software module, modified exhaust system and modified turbochargers. All these have made the Brabus 700 WIDESTAR capable of running 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 240km/h being a limited speed.
Other Specifications
Beyond straight-line performance, the WIDESTAR package focuses heavily on presence. The widened track, oversized wheels, and aggressive bodywork collectively change how the G63 occupies space on the road.
