Blacked-Out BMW M5 with Vossen Wheels Tries to Soften the G90’s Shape

BMW put the current M5 on the road in 2024, and reactions have stayed divided since the first customer cars arrived. The new G90 sedan, together with the G99 Touring branch of the same family, brought a different kind of discussion around the badge. Styling took most of the heat early on, though mass became an equally difficult subject once full specifications appeared.

This generation carries more weight than the model before it. The figure shown for the latest M5 reaches 4,345 pounds, or 2,445 kilograms. In the source material, the comparison even stretches toward certain Ford F-150 pickup versions, which says enough about how far the number has moved. The extra bulk sits under the skin, linked directly to the plug-in-hybrid layout BMW introduced in order to keep fuel use and carbon dioxide output under tighter control.

Underneath, the familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 stays in place, now working with electrified support. Total system output reaches 717 horsepower, listed alongside 535 kilowatts and 727 ps. Torque reaches 738 pound-feet, with the metric figure shown as 1,000 Newton-meters. From rest, the car reaches 62 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds, which matches 100 kilometers per hour.
