The German tuning specialists at Oettinger released a new package, this time for the VW Golf R. Called “500R”, the new model comes with both styling and performance tweaks, therefore, we talk about a complete overhaul.
Power is offered by a 2.5-liter TFSI unit capable to produce 518 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. The extra power was squeezed from the five-cylinder engine using a new turbocharger, a revised ECU, new cooling system, a sports exhaust and a new air intake.
As a consequence, Oettinger’s VW Golf R hits the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in just 3,4 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h.
Moving to aesthetic, the German model has now new front and rear bumpers, revised side skirts, orange accents on the front grille, spoilers and side mirrors as well as new 20-inch ATS forged wheels shod in Dunlop tires. The same orange inserts are available inside, as well as Alcantara, sport seats, leather accents and other minor tweaks.
All in all, Oettinger offers a complete package for the German hot hatch, prices starting from just over $171,000. A more powerful version of this package is also said to be in the works.
